Built for Precision: Guided Wave Radar Technology in Every Application
The LVRD10-Series uses guided wave radar (GWR) technology to provide accurate, repeatable level measurement via a 4 to 20 mA output. This contact-level transmitter operates effectively in a broad range of process conditions, including tanks exposed to high temperature, light agitation, vapour, or condensation.
It supports rod probe, coaxial probe, and cable probe configurations to suit different tank geometries and installation needs. With IP66/NEMA 4 enclosure ratings and robust materials like 316L stainless steel, the sensor resists aggressive media, including sulfuric acid, hydrochloric acid, and synthetic oils.
With false echo rejection, high-resolution signal detection (<0.04"), and compatibility across alkaline solutions, oil, and water, the LVRD10 is a go-to guided wave radar transmitter for Australian engineers.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is a guided wave radar level transmitter?
A guided wave radar level transmitter is a sensor that uses radar pulses guided along a probe to measure the level of liquids or solids in a tank. It provides accurate interface measurement in challenging media, including oil, chemicals, and water-based fluids.
What is the working principle of GWR?
Guided wave radar transmitters operate using time domain reflectometry, sending a radar pulse down a probe. When the pulse hits the product surface, it reflects back to the sensor. The travel time is converted into a level reading.
How is guided wave radar different from traditional radar level transmitters?
Unlike free-space radar, guided wave radar uses a physical probe (like a rod or coaxial cable) to guide the radar pulse, making it better suited for condensation, vapour, or narrow tank installations where signal dispersion can be a problem.
Where are guided wave radar sensors used?
GWR sensors are commonly used in chemical storage, oil-water interface applications, wastewater treatment plants, HVAC tanks, and other industrial tanks requiring precise level measurement under changing process conditions.
What types of liquids can LVRD10 measure?
The LVRD10 supports a broad range of media, including alkaline solutions, mineral oil, distilled water, light oil, hydrochloric acid, and even aggressive chemicals, thanks to corrosion-resistant probes and a wide temperature-pressure range.
